SCR SYSTEM
SCR SYSTEM
This method aims to reduce the level of pollutant emissions such as nitrogen oxide (NOx) by combining the engine’s optimised ignition and exhaust emissions refinement system. The main factor of the procedure is the use of AdBlue.
AdBlue is sprayed into exhaust gases before reaching the catalyst. The high heat generated at this point converts AdBlue into ammonia. Then ammonia and anti-nitrogen oxides react with each other when they penetrate the catalyst and become two elements that are not harmful to the atmosphere, nitrogen and water vapor.
The main problem in diesel engines is that harmful to health nitric oxide excretion is reduced considerably through SCR technology (selective catalytic reduction technology) and converted into water vapor and nitrogen with the help of a urea solution called AdBlue. AdBlue is transported in an additional tank in commercial vehicles and injected into the exhaust system. In combination with SCR catalyst, the specially developed dosing systems in the exhaust system allow the disposal of nitric oxide by 85% and the reduction of the body particles by 40%. It is only now possible to reduce particulate and nitric oxide excretion at the same time, and thus meet the legally required limit values, only with the SCR method.
ADVANTAGES OF SCR TECHNOLOGY
- SCR is valid throughout Europe. The SCR system is less sensitive to lower quality diesel than other methods to meet the Euro 4, Euro 5 and Euro 6 directives.
- SCR system requires rare maintenance, can be used throughout the life of the vehicle.
- SCR technology does not affect the maintenance and oil replacement intervals of the vehicle to which it is mounted.
- SCR is suitable for high engine power. Unlike alternative systems, there is no need to reinforce the engine’s lubrication or cooling system.
- SCR is the least fuel consuming system compatible with Euro 4, Euro 5 and Euro 6.
